Great funding news

NERC have kindly agreed to provide funding for the workshop, allowing us to to offer help towards accommodation and travel costs for participants who need it, and the Royal Meteorological Society have kindly agreed to sponsor a wine reception to be held on the first evening of the workshop. 

Registration closes this weekend, and the format of the workshop will be decided by the participants, with the following as an outline:

morning sessions

- Talks by senior scientists on their research and careers in the following subject areas:

Stephane Bauguitte, Dwayne Heard, Peter Liss will talk on their work in atmospheric chemistry and observation.

Andrew Charlton-Perez, Erik Kolstad and John Turner will talk on atmospheric dynamics and climate change.

David B. Stephenson will talk on statistical modelling in climate science

- Opportunity for sessions suggested by applicants.

 

afternoon sessions

- Poster session.

- Climate modelling practical.

- Outdoor/lab instrumentation session.

- Problem-solving sessions where problems posed by participants are discussed informally with the invited senior scientists.

 

Evening

Social events including a wine reception sponsored by the Royal Meteorological Society and a conference dinner
